On April 1, the Schweinfurt VTF began offering only free health certificates to its patrons. This service still remains with some modifications. During the month of May, hours of availability to obtain the health certificates change to Mondays and Fridays only between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The facility will close from noon-1 p.m. for the lunch hour.
As of May 30, the VTF will be closed except for a select few dates (June 6, 13, 20, 27, and July 7). Health certificates will be the only service available on these dates. Appointments for these select dates can be scheduled beginning May 5 by calling DSN 353-8012, CIV 09721-96-8012 between the hours of 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
All pet owners should make sure their pets are current on vaccinations and other requirements for traveling with pets prior to their PCS. The VTF will not be able to provide treatments, prescriptions or vaccinations, including the Rabies vaccine.
Vaccines, blood tests, medications or other services will only be available at off-post veterinarians, or at the Ansbach/Katterbach Veterinary Clinic or the Vilseck Veterinary Clinic. For more information about pet care, read Changes coming to pet care April 1.
Pet owners are encouraged to pick up their pet’s veterinary records prior to May 30. After that date, records will be transferred to the Vilseck Veterinary Clinic.
Pet owners remaining in Germany can request their VTF enter their information into the new centralized Remote Online Veterinary Record system. This should make registration at the next duty station easier.
For a list of off-post vet clinics, of if you have further questions, visit or call the Schweinfurt VTF at DSN 353-8359, CIV 09721-96-8359.
